Hiro Yoshimura | 2nd Prize | Violin | 9th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


 Hiro Yoshimura, 16, is a sophomore at Cupertino High School. He began playing the violin at 6, and has won top prizes in numerous competitions including: 2022 Pacific Musical Society, 2022 Burlingame Music Club, 2022 & 2020 KAMSA, 2021 ENKOR, 2021 HIMC, and 2020-2022 USIMC, 2021 Silicon Valley Music Competition. Hiro attended Meadowmount School of Music in summers of 2019 (studied with Kikuei Ikeda) and 2021 (studied with Gerardo Ribeiro), and was featured in The Violin Channel in the Meadowmount presentations in 2021. This summer, Hiro will attend the Aspen Music Festival as well as the Music@Menlo program. He has played in the California Youth Symphony in 2016-2019, has joined the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra in 2020 and is currently a Co-Principal in the second violin section. Hiro has been studying violin with Chen Zhao of SF Symphony and Tomomi Matsumoto, and previously studied with William Barbini. He also plays piano, studying with Shunsuke Kurakata since 6. Hiro also enjoys Python and Java coding as well as math tutoring as a member of To The Limit Maths.
