Katelyn Moon | 2nd Prize | Violin | 9th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

 


Katelyn Moon is 17 years old and started the violin when she was six. She was accepted to Juilliard Pre-College at the age of 11 and studies under Dr. Ann Setzer.

Katelyn received First Class Honors of Royal Conservatory Music Development Program at the age of eight. She appeared as a soloist with the Camerata Virtuosi New Jersey Orchestra at Merkin Concert Hall at 9 years old. She has performed at other major venues including Weill Hall, Zankel Hall, and Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall. She received First place at the New York International Music Competition in 2014, Second prize in 2016 at International Grande Music Competition, and Second at the Juilliard Concerto Competition in 2019. She was also a finalist at the Blount Slawson Competition in 2018 and Boston Music Institute Competition in 2019. In 2020, she was a First prize winner at the NYIAA Praelusio Competition. In 2021, she won First place at the National Artists Competition and also at New York International Music Concours where she received the U.S. House Representative Award and Prize Certificate. Katelyn was named as a Platinum Winner at the 2021 Trinity International Music Competition. She is also named as a 2022 National YoungArts Foundation Merit winner and 2022 New York YoungArts Foundation First prize winner.  She is currently the associate director of the Westchester region in Back to Bach.

In the past summers, she has attended the Meadowmount School of Music. She has played for artists such as James Ehnes and Anna Kavafian.
