Sarah Liu | 2nd Prize | Violin | 9th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Sarah Liu, age 18, currently studies with Sam Fischer. She has traveled across the country, performing on the violin at venues such as the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington D.C., Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in California, and the world-famous Carnegie Hall. Sarah played as a soloist with the Pacific Symphony in their Symphony in the Cities concerts and at the Nixon Library for the Celebration of Forty Years of U.S.-China Diplomatic Relations. In 2022, she won first place in the MTAC-VOCE State Competition. She also won first place in the ASTA-LA Finals Pre-College Violin Category. In 2019, she performed with the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra as their concerto competition winner. Sarah was chosen to play for the Colburn McAllister Honors Recital in 2019. She won the Judge’s Distinction Award and first place in the American Protégé International Concerto Competition and performed as a soloist in Carnegie Hall in 2017.

Sarah is active as an orchestral and chamber music player. Sarah has been a member of the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra since 2018, and she is currently the Co-Concertmaster of the ensemble. Sarah’s quartet, the Pacific Symphony Youth Quartet, has won prestigious awards from the AEMC International Chamber Music Competition and the Enkor International Music Competition. Sarah has collaborated with musicians such as multi-platinum Grammy nominees AZYet as well as the R&B and pop group Surface, whose famous song “The First Time” ranked #1 on the billboards. "
