Katelyn Deng | 2nd Prize | Piano | 10th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

 


Katelyn Deng, a 14-year-old 8th grader from Fremont, California, started learning piano at the age of 4 and has been studying with Mrs. Kai Chi Zhu for over seven years. In 2022, Katelyn won First Place in the Junior Concerto Category and the Junior Solo Showcase Category at the United States Open Music Competition. She was also awarded the Runner-Up prize in the 2022 Young Artist Competition by the Fremont Symphony. Recently, Katelyn received the First Place award in the Intermediate Solo Showcase Category at the United States Open Music Competition in 2023. Additionally, she won First Prize in the 2023 KAMSA Piano Competition, First Place in the 2023 East Bay Music Foundation Piano Competition, and First Prize in the 2023 Pacific Musical Society & Foundation Competition. Moreover, Katelyn has participated in the Junior Bach Festival for three consecutive years. Besides music, she enjoys reading and watching movies and documentaries about the arts and history.
