Hyun Lee, 11 yrs old and a sixth grader at Lakeridge middle school, started the cello at the age of 5 and has been with his teacher, Hyun-jin Kim for 3 yrs. After being accepted into the Portland Young String Ensemble at the age of 9, Hyun became the principal and played in PYSE quartet, and currently in the Portland Youth Conservatory Orchestra.
In 2022, Hyun was selected to play in ASTA Honors Recital, and won 1st place Oregon Junior division in OPUS music competition, Silver medal in Trinity International music competition, Gold Award Junior division in Metropolitan International music competition, and1st prize in New York Laureate International music competition.
