Diego Montes | 2nd Prize | Winds & Percussion | 10th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

 


Diego Montes is a Venezuelan Percussionist. Diego has been playing in several orchestras in his career such as the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra, Albany Symphony Orchestra, Teresa Carreno Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Ballet, and Mahler Chamber Orchestra, currently acting as principal Percussion/Timpani at LaGrange Symphony Orchestra. Diego has been awarded the Woodruff scholarship and he is studying at Columbus State University where he acts as a percussion principal. Diego is also teacher in the youth orchestra of greater Columbus. He has been in many festivals such as the ten "Los Llanos" Percussion Festival in Venezuela, the Festival in Campos do Jordao in Brazil, and also in the Salzburg Festival. Diego has worked along with the NEOJIBA group, Juan Alamo, Dave Samuels, Damien Petitjean, Philippe Limoge, Roger Carlsson, Hilvic Gonzalez, and many other recognized artists.
