My name is Sophia Zhou, and I am a freshman at Diamond Bar High School. At Diamond Bar, I am involved in my school's Performing Arts Academy, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. Outside of school, I am also in the Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra. Every year, I participate in all state and all southern honor groups, in which this year is my fourth consecutive year. Last year in middle school, I was principal flutist of both groups. As for the summer program, this summer I will be going to participate in BUTI Tanglewood's Young Artist Wind Ensemble. In the previous summer, I attended the Assisi Performing Arts Festival in Italy, which is an international program. In the previous summer before that, I was in Interlochen's International Youth Wind Symphony, as co-principal flute. In the awards category, some achievements I received include, World Strides Performing Arts Ovation Award, Outstanding Musicianship Award, Forum Festivals, Wind and String Adjudication Form, Superior Rating, and the Most Outstanding Musician award at Chaparral Middle School.
