Haniel Baek is an 8th grader at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Middle School. He began playing the cello at the age of 10 under the expert guidance of Kyeong Hwa Kim. Over the past four years, Haniel has been a dedicated member of the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, continually refining his musical talents.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Haniel is a professional archer who is ranked 2nd in the California State Ranking for archery in 2024. He is also an active member of the Santa Clara swim team, achieving 12 Junior Olympic qualifying cut times in 2024.
