Jason Chien is a junior at Mountain View High School in Mountain View, California. He has been involved in music since a young age, picking up piano at age 8, playing up until California Certificate of Merit level 8. He started playing cello in 5th grade, and is currently studying under Ms. Kyeong-Hwa Kim. He has been a member of CPYO for the last 3 years, and plays in his high school Chamber Orchestra. He won first place in the BAMA San Francisco Innovative Music Competition and American Protégé International Music Talent Competition, as well as second place in American Fine Arts Festival’s Golden Era of Romantic Music International competition. Outside of cello, Jason passes time by hanging out with friends, playing basketball, and listening to music.
