My name is Minjoon Jo, and I am a 16 year old Junior at Leland High School in San Jose. I have high functioning autism, and play the viola. I started learning music by playing the violin when I was six years old, but had to stop for a couple of years due to health issues. When I resumed learning music, I switched to the viola. I have studied with Pei-Ling Lin, who worked in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Pre-college Division, and I currently practice with my mom at home. I have won awards, including 2nd place in the 2022 SFIIMC and an honorable mention in the 2023 KAMSA Competition. Besides music, I enjoy history, linguistics, and biology.
