Tanay Panja | 3rd prize | Strings | 10th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Tanay Panja is currently a junior at Ann Arbor Huron High School, where he has been actively playing the double bass for six years under the guidance of Jacob Warren.

Tanay serves as the principal bass player of the Huron High School Symphony Orchestra, with whom he has toured internationally, performing at prestigious venues such as L’Auditori in Barcelona, the National Music Auditorium of Spain, and the Burlington Performing Arts Centre in Canada. Huron’s music program has been recognized by the GRAMMY Foundation as one of the most outstanding high school music departments in the country.

As a middle school student, Tanay earned the title of First Chair in the Michigan All-State Middle School Orchestra for two consecutive years. In high school, he was selected for the Michigan All-State High School Symphony Orchestra for two years. Tanay has also participated in the prestigious Interlochen Summer Music Program for three years with his high school orchestra.

Outside of performing, Tanay enjoys giving back to the community through music. Beyond music, he has a keen interest in airplanes, enjoys quizzing on science topics, and playing tennis with friends. He also loves traveling with family and friends.
