Subin Kim is a clarinetist and freshman at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California. She began playing the clarinet in the fourth grade and currently performs as a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. At school, she is an active participant in the Wind Ensemble and Pep Band.

Subin has been selected for the California All-State Band in 2023, 2024, and 2025, and received numerous awards, including 1st place in the 2025 Charleston International Classical Music Competition, the 2025 American Protégé International Music Talent Competition, and the 2024 US International Open Music Competition.

To share her passion for music with the community, Subin performs with the KAMSA Youth Orchestra and collaborates with the Bello Ensemble and Sky Ensemble. She is also a dedicated member of Bridges in Music, a volunteer group that brings live performances to a senior center in Palo Alto.

This coming summer, Subin is greatly looking forward to participating in the Clarinet Workshop at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Outside of music, she enjoys exploring math challenges, reading literature, playing golf, and practicing Taekwondo.
