Henry Courtney is a 17-year old pianist and vocalist from Corona del Mar, CA. He currently studies piano with Craig Richey, having previously studied with Aleli Tibay and Margery Burger. He is twice a Panel Honors winner of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC). He has garnered top prizes in the Southern California Junior Bach Festival (SCJBF) Regional Competition and Complete Works Audition, the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) Honors Competition and Contemporary Competition, the International Association of Professional Music Teachers (IAPMT) Concours International, and the Concordia Music Competition.
Henry is also a classical voice singer, currently studying with Milena Kitic. He began singing when he was 7 years old with the All-American Boys Chorus. He has appeared in productions with the LA Opera and the Parnassus Society. This past year, he performed the title role in his school’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro.
