Jason Nam | 1st prize | Piano | 12th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Jason Nam is a 17-year-old 11th grader at The Bear Creek School in Washington. He is currently studying with Rufus Choi. He recently performed with the Seattle Symphony in March 2025 as a 2025 Seattle Symphony Young Artist. He is a recipient of the 2023 National Chopin Foundation Scholarship. He has been awarded the Grand prize at the Aloha International Piano Competition, the Grand prize at the KMA scholarship, gold medals both at the concerto division and solo division at the Chopin Northwest Festival, gold medals at the Bach Festival, the Virtuoso Festival, and the Vienna Festival at the Seattle International Piano Competition. He also received the first prize with the Josephine Bryant Memorial Scholarship at PAFE and was selected as a state recitalist for three consecutive years. He received first prize at the American Virtuosos International Music Competition and the Odin International Piano Competition, and top prizes at the Chicago International Piano Competition, Articial San Francisco Piano Competition, and the Bellagrande International Piano Competition.

Jason has participated in the Bowdoin International Music Festival as a student of , Seattle Piano Institute, and will attend Piano Texas 2025 and the Arthur Fraser Piano Competition at Southeastern Piano Festival 2025. He will be featured on NPR’s From the Top in June 2025. He has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Benaroya Hall, and the Herbst Theatre. He has performed with the Bellevue Symphony as a Pacific Northwest Concerto Competition winner, with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra as the NW Chopin Concerto Competition winner, and performed Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 2 with the Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra.
