William Chu is a 10-year-old student at Bullis Charter School in Los Altos, and a first-time winner of the 2025 Rabinowitch Piano Competition at the Palo Alto branch. He has been studying piano for four years and has performed in recitals at Peery Piano Academy where he is a student at. William enjoys learning new music and works hard to improve his playing. The best part of learning piano, according to him, is the feeling of mastering difference pieces. His favorite subject at school is math. At home, he is a loving and caring big brother who always tries to make his little sister feel safe and happy. In his free time, William enjoys playing Nintendo Switch, solving Rubik’s Cubes, watching NBA games, and eating his favorite treat—fried sesame mochi red bean balls.
