Adam Kim is a cellist and student at Lick-Wilmerding High School. He has studied cello with Jonathan Koh since the age of seven. In 2025, Adam won first place in the United States International Music Competition and received honorable mention in the Music Teachers National Association California State Junior Strings Competition. He also won first place in the American Protégé International Concerto Competition and was a prizewinner in the Diablo Valley College/Holy Names University Young Artist String Competition, Silicon Valley Music Competition, Bellagrande International Music Competition, and Geneva Junior Music Competition. Adam has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, The Colburn School, and at venues throughout the Bay Area. An avid ensemble musician, Adam performed with the 2025 California Orchestra Directors Association Junior High All-State Orchestra, participated in the Cal Music Prep chamber music program, and attended summer chamber music intensives at the Colburn School and Music at Tateuchi. In 2025, he was selected as a member of Young Chamber Musicians, a nationally recognized program offering year-long advanced chamber music instruction.
