Minjoon Jo, is a 17 years old Senior at Leland High School in San Jose, California. He started learning music by playing violin when he was six years old, but had to stop for a couple of years due to health issues. When he resumed learning music, he switched to viola. He currently studies with Jonathan Vinocour in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Collegiate. He has won awards, including 2nd place in the 2022 SFIIMC, honorable mention in the 2023 KAMSA Competition, 2nd place in the 2025 ENKOR Int’l Music Competition Strings, honorable mention in the 2025 Peninsular Symphony Young Musicians Competition. Besides music, he has interest in history, linguistics, and biology.
