June Kim, fifteen years old, is an oboist from New York City and a 9th-grade student at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School. June was awarded first place at the Great Composers Competition in 2025 for the international competition for instrumentalists, The Art of Winds & Percussion. She was awarded second place at the American Protégé International Woodwinds and Brass Competition in 2025. She has performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in 2026.

She began playing the oboe in second grade after hearing its unique and beautiful sound on the radio. Since then, music has become a major part of her life. She performed in school orchestras and ensembles, and she is currently a member of both the Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra at LaGuardia High School. She enjoys discovering new ways to express music through emotions and appreciates the connection she makes with people while performing. Outside of music, she is also passionate about tennis, math, writing, and helping others learn.
