Katherine Xie is a ninth grader at Naperville North High School, Illinois. She currently studies flute with Hideko Amano and Leah Arsenault Barrick. She was the first-place winner of the 2025 American Protégé International Woodwinds and Brass Competition and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. She has also earned multiple honors in the Chicago Flute Club student competitions, including second place in the Junior Division in 2024. She is a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, where she enjoys performing ensemble repertoire.
