Simon Yao, 14, studies clarinet with Boris Allakhverdyan, Principal Clarinet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Despite his short years of study, Simon has developed a refined tone, strong technique, and mature musicality. He is an active chamber musician and orchestral player, in addition to being a highly accomplished pianist. His extensive musical background brings a nuanced and expressive approach to his clarinet playing.
