Kevin Ng: 3rd Prize, Violin, Cat.C | 2015


Making his concerto debut at age 10, Canadian violinist Kevin Ng has since appeared with the Richmond Orchestra playing the concertos of Beethoven and Saint-Saens, and with the Delta Youth Orchestra playing Beethoven’s violin concerto and romances. Kevin made his recital debut with the Vancouver Women’s Musical Society in 2011, and has since performed at the Haus der Musik in Vienna, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and at multiple venues across London.

He was the recipient of the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Silver Medal in 2010, as well as a variety of awards and scholarships at a provincial and national level. A versatile orchestral and chamber musician as well as soloist, he served as concertmaster of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada in 2014 under Maestro Emmanuel Villaume. In addition, he has served as assistant concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific, the University of British Columbia Symphony Orchestra, and the University of London Symphony Orchestra. Kevin began his studies with James Malmberg and currently studies with Nancy DiNovo.
