Caroline Gong, currently a junior in high school, has been playing the flute for seven years. She won 1st place in 2020 International Woodwinds & Brass Competition, 3rd place (Winds and Percussion) in 2020 ENKOR International Music Competition, 1st in 2019 Internal Concerto Competition and performed solo at Carnegie Hall.
Aside from competitions, Caroline has participated in multiple ensemble programs. She has been with California Youth Symphony Senior Orchestra for two years, first as co-principal 2nd flute from 2018 - 2019, then as first flute from 2019 - 2020. She has been selected to perform in California’s All-State Honor Ensembles for five consecutive years (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021), including being Principal for the 2021 Wind Symphony.
Caroline enjoys performing at senior centers, collaborating with her school’s chamber ensemble and jazz band, and teaching children the instrument.
Beyond music, Caroline is the Founder and President of Rhapsody for Youth, a nonprofit with a mission to interact with young individuals by motivating them to articulate their ideas and self-advocate for positive changes in their lives."
