Andrew Kim | 2nd Prize | Winds & Percussion | 11th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Andrew played piano for 9 years reaching CM Level 10 with state and branch honor and won third place in the International Music Competition for Best Beethoven Performance. 

He later started playing oboe since 6th grade and participating his high school wind ensemble as principal oboist and pep band where he plays alto saxophone. 

Also, Andrew has been serving as the principal oboist in the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra since 2020.

Andrew has been accepted into the California All-State Honor Band for four years and the Santa Clara County Honor Band for three years. 

Andrew has received several prestigious performance awards, including first place in the 2025 The Best Mozart Performance International Music Competition, first place in the 2024 American Protege International woodwinds and Brass competition, first place in the 2024 the Music of America International Music Competition, first place in the 2024 20th Century Music Charleston International Music Competition, first place in the 2024 California Federation of Women’s Clubs Competition, and second place in the 2023 World’s Best Musicians Competition. Also, he was honored with a Special Award in the Bay Area Creative Youth Award in Music Performance. 

Besides school, Andrew is also playing in various groups such as Music for Us and Everyone (MUSE) and the BELLO Ensemble. Through these groups, he engages in benefit concerts and volunteer effort such as having a concert at senior living regularly, bringing joy to residents through music.
