Adele Lu is a fourth grader from Fremont, California, who began studying piano at the age of four and a half. She currently studies with Ory Shihor and previously studied with Ying Huang and Jed Galant.
Adele has been recognized in numerous piano competitions. Most recently, she received Honorable Mention in the 2025 MTAC Piano Concerto Solo Competition – Northern Region Solo Division I (through age 12) and won Third Place in the 2025 CAPMT Honors Competition (regional). In 2024, she earned First Prize in the Best Mozart Performance, Second Prize in the Best Bach Performance, and First Prize along with the San Francisco Piano Technicians Guild Special Prize at the East Bay Music Festival. Adele was also selected to perform in the Junior Bach Festival in both 2024 and 2025.
In addition to piano, Adele plays the flute and participated in the Chamber Winds program at the 2024 Golden State Youth Orchestra Summer Conservatory. Besides music, she enjoys playing squash, drawing, origami, and exploring science.
