Hanna Suzuki is a 9th grader in Bedford, Massachusetts. She started her piano career at the age 3 and has been a student of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School since she was 9 yeas old. Her current piano teacher is Hitomi Koyama. She not only takes private lessons, but she also explores a broader range of music education such as music theory, chamber music, and A. Ramon Rivera piano seminar.
Hanna has won first place at numerous competitions: American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition, Steinway Society of Massachusetts Piano Competition, Elite Int’l Music Competition, Crescendo Int’l Music Competition, and MMTA Bay State Piano Contest. She has also received second place at Chopin Int’l Piano Competition and Paderewski Int’l Piano Competition. Hanna has performed at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall in NYC, Jordan Hall at New England Conservatory of Music, Gasson Hall at Boston College, and Shinshu Int’l Music Village in Japan.
Additionally, Hanna engages in research projects that mix music, acoustics, and computer science. She was honored global awards in the NASA Int'l Space Apps Challenge, selected as one of 10 national finalists in the 3M Young Scientist Challenge, and awarded a national honorable mention by the National Center for Women and Information Technology. For her initiative to teach technical skills in youth communities, Hanna has been honored by the Congressional Award and the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
